Inflating the packraft with the air bag
Inflating the packraft with the air bag requires some practice.
First, the check valve is unscrewed from the packraft and then the air bag is screwed to the packraft.
The airbag is "untwisted" and filled with air; outdoors, the wind often helps with this. If there is no wind, the airbag must be moved for this to happen.
Once the airbag is well filled, it is twisted at the open end and rolled up. The air is then blown into the packraft by applying pressure to the airbag. If necessary, roll the airbag up further and apply pressure again.
The pumping process with the air bag must be repeated until the packraft is well filled.
The airbag does not have a non-return valve, so when unscrewing the airbag, close the opening with your thumb, for example, and quickly unscrew the packraft's non-return valve. This will let out some air. Then blow a few more times with your mouth, to do so comforably there is a pipe included.
Of course, hand or foot pumps or electric pumps can also be used. We recommend pumps with a pressure gauge so that the recommended pressure is not exceeded; too high a pressure can cause damage to the packraft.
Pressure loss with cold water
Cold air has a smaller volume than warmer air. If the water is colder than the surrounding air, this leads to a reduction in pressure in the packraft, which requires further inflation. In cold water, it helps to place the packraft on the water for 5 minutes and then to adjust pressure.
Do not leave the fully inflated packraft in the sun for long
Since warmer air has a higher volume, the air pressure increases with the temperature. If the packraft with the recommended air pressure is in the sun, the temperature rises and with it the air pressure exceeds the recommended air pressure. Too much pressure can damage the packraft. If there is no shade available, let out some air so that the recommended air pressure is not exceeded.
Storage
It should be stored dry and in a dry place out of direct sunlight. The packraft dries most easily when inflated. Moisture tends to "hide" between the floor and the side tubes.
Salt water
The packrafts can be used in salt water without any concerns, but it is recommended to rinse them with fresh water after use in salt water.
